Theme Inspiration: Gothic Decoration!

Gothic decoration is unique and packs a lot of impact! If you love trying edgy and a bit of drama in your decor, this surely is worth consideration. There are so many interpretation, from architecture to color schemes, unique features and a sense of mystery. This is my interpretation of this stunning theme decor.

Surely Halloween has put me in the mood to explore Gothic too, but my understanding is very limited. Enjoy these unusual delights!

The pointed arch is one of the most important characteristic of Gothic architecture. The canopy bed and the spartan bedroom in black and white is surely evocative!


Amazed by this installation. Every day objects come together on shelves to create this interesting skull design!

Black and amethyst are a good combination for Gothic decor. A stylish decor, with just the perfect dose of romance and mystery. Candles and candlesticks are perfect choice for accessory.


Gorgeous decor here. The matte black is an amazing backdrop and the hint of purple is the perfect color for this modern Gothic decor. Love the ledge and b&w pictures!


A good idea for makeover! Find an interesting bureau and paint it black (surface damage no problem!) use a decal or simply trace a Goth design and paint it metallic.

Add a new twist, how about glow in the dark paint..wow!


Wood is a good choice when looking at Gothic features. Make it a little more interesting, add mosaic mirror to the staircase. Its eerie and creative at the same time :o)


Purple and black is popular color combination. This Christmas decor is so unique as its part Gothic with so many elements of Gothic decoration. Very enticing!

Gothic is not just black and ornate, it is stunning and stylish! The simple addition of pointed arc glass accent adds a subtle touch of Gothic. So chic and elegant.

The change of season is a wonderful excuse to refresh your home decor! Love the autumn colors, its vibrancy and warm tones adds a cozy feel to home. Think of warm color palette, lovely throw and rugs and lots of cinnamon pumpkin candles. Fall decor has so much texture and gorgeous richness. Invite this change in weather into your homes!

Make Rose Water in Your Crock-pot

Mama Peck (a recent visitor) had great idea I want to share.  Scented water requires an approximate two hour cooking time at a slight simmer.  It's important not to boil the flower petals.  I've made the recipe so many times on the stove that the idea of using a crock-pot (slow cooker) never occurred to me.  Thanks to Mama Peck's suggestion, I made a quick batch -- very successfully.

Stylish teen bedroom ideas for girls!

Teens love their own space. Its a good idea to include them when choosing color scheme and furniture. Their hobbies, likes, lifestyle should be the major points in consideration. The objective should be to make the space individualistic as well as functional. It should reflect their life style while showcasing their personality!

Most importantly have fun when planning, there are so many ideas and inspiration to help you design and decorate. If possible look for some crafty makeover ideas too and let kids try their hands at it. It would add a personal touch and a definite uniqueness to their new room.

Pink and floral is easily a popular choice. Gorgeous blue and fresh minty accent colors makes it a stylish space. A string of floral garland adds a cutesy touch!


Love this colorful bedroom. Colors have so much energy and inspiration. Start with a rug or bedding and build around it. Love the diy bunting and cork board on the headboard idea!

Decor aesthetics can be a mix of elements! Modern with rustic, vintage with contemporary, punch of colors..you get it. Modern with a rustic touch is a beautiful melange of texture, elements, color and style. Its a very unique and interesting mix, as you will find in some of the inspirations featured here.

Rescuing vintage and distressed furniture and mixing them with modern has a wonderful eclectic feel brings a unique charm to the space. A cozy space with interesting details. Always remember comfortable with chic!

Weeding

I am not a huge fan of weeding especially in my vegetable beds.  Weeds in moderation can serve a valuable service as companion plantings protecting vegetables from certain pests.  Many common garden weeds are edible as well.  Weeding is a necessary evil of gardening even if you take the lasie faire approach I do.   Weeds like bind weed can strangle out just about any plant, they make garden beds

Theme Inspiration: 10 Laundry room ideas!

Storage and organizing is an important part of keeping a home functional and tidy. While Laundry room may not rank among the most fun, yet it is an important workspace. Upgrade it to a welcoming space with custom cabinets and batter space utilization. Use colorful wall papers and possibly even near a window with a view.

Laundry room should no longer be shunted to basements, make it a part of your living space. Think of using hallway, hidden inside a closet, in the mud room or even as a part of your kitchen!

Stacked washer dryer, counter space for folding, hampers for collecting laundry and lots of overhead storage The high window lets in natural light and the colorful wall paper makes this a happy space.


Mud room for laundry? Absolutely love the details,-nook to tuck in the ironing board, large sink to wash out stains, dryer rack for the hand washed, shelves and so much storage! I can work here :-)

Practical tip, having a drawer organized to hold your basic sewing kit will help mend at once. Having it within easy reach might save you effort and time. Use a cutlery organizer!


Love this nifty idea! A retractable ironing board to help keep it seamless. It would be awesome in any laundry room.
